

Pure Grain Alcohol
Pure Grain Alcohol is derived from grains and is also known as Ethanol. The pure Grain Alcohol we use in our formulations is achieved from a traditional Ayurvedic process known as “Sandhaan Kalpana” or Biomedical Fermentation. It has been described in important and eminent Ayurvedic texts like the Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita and Ashtang Hridayam as a method to obtain the active extracts of plants, while keeping these aqueous as well as alcohol soluble.
The Ayurvedic Process of Making Pure Grain Alcohol
During this process of Sandhan Kalpana, the pure Grain Alcohol which is generated is mainly ethyl alcohol, obtained from natural grains including Rice, Barley, Jowar, Bajra and Wheat. However, the Pure Grain Alcohol we use is pure Ethyl Alcohol with no other additives or denaturation and that’s what makes it different from synthetic alcohol. This is the reason why Pure Grain Alcohol does not cause any irritation on the skin and does not evaporate as quickly.
Some of the benefits of fermented herbal products like pure grain alcohol made by Sandhaan kalpana (biomedical fermentation) are mentioned below.
a). Fermentation removes the undesirable sugars from the plant material used to make Pure Grain Alcohol, making the ingredient and product at hand more skin friendly.
b). Fermentation extracts a wider range of active ingredients from the source than any other extraction method.
c).Fermentation removes any potential contaminants and lowers the harmful effects (if any) of some of the components of plants.
There are some very important factors that need to be taken into consideration during the process of Sandhaan Kalpana to obtain Pure Grain Alcohol.
1. The proportion of grains (Madhur Dravya) need to be strictly followed as prescribed in the Vedic scriptures.
2. All Vedic texts recommend the using earthen and wooden containers for the fermentation process.
3. The right temperature and precise duration for the entire process should be followed as prescribed.
